This is an exciting opportunity to join the gene editing/analytical development team at Garuda Therapeutics. Successful candidates will demonstrate advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts and practices of gene-editing in pluripotent stem cells as well as analytical development. This position requires enthusiasm, dedication, attention to detail, analytical thinking, a goal-oriented mindset, flexibility, and teamwork skills.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine culture, expansion, and quality control of iPSC lines, ensuring their genetic stability and maintenance of pluripotency.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of gene editing protocols for iPSCs using CRISPR/Cas9.
  • Generate and manage iPSC lines for various gene editing applications, ensuring high quality and reproducibility.
  • Conduct functional assays to assess the efficiency and outcomes of gene edits in iPSC-derived models.
  • Differentiate, characterize and validate iPSCs into hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align workflows and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Collaborate closely with scientists and team members from cross-functional teams to coordinate workflows.
  • Effectively report research progress and planned activities through oral and written presentations.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity, with clear and accurate documentation of activities.
  • Demonstrate scientific initiative and creative thinking in achieving project goals.
Qualifications:
  • PhD required with at least 1 year of experience in pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture.
  • Strong background in cell and molecular biology with expertise in gene editing and analytical development techniques.
  • Proficient in techniques such as ELISA, PCR, ddPCR, Western blotting, multicolor flow cytometry, and fluorescence microscopy.
  • Experience with software tools like FlowJo, SnapGene, and GraphPad.
  • Demonstrated excellence in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments and high attention to detail with meticulous record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with the flexibility to adjust work schedules to accommodate weekend work if necessary.
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and contribute to a cooperative and productive work environment.
